A proposal with a budget of Rs. 9 crore to set up an additional booster station, near the existing one, has been sent to the Haryana government for final approval.

According to a senior official of the Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda), the new booster station will pump water into the separate line laid recently from Iffco Chowk to Cyber City, along the Gurgaon Expressway.

The official added that water supply would also be boosted in other lines going to MG Road, towards Sector 42-43 and along the Expressway.

“The new boosting station would help pump water in areas where there is low pressure,” said the official.

He further said a 5,500 kilolitre-capacity underground water tank will be set up on a vacant plot near the existing booster station at Sector 16 which already has two tanks of similar capacities.

Once the approval comes from Chandigarh headquarters by June end, Huda will float the tender.

DLF City, Sushant Lok, Ardee City, Essel Tower and other areas have been reeling under sever water crisis.
