In a press release issued to media, the Noida police had not only revealed the minor girl's home address but also her and her father's name.

"Superintendent of police (crime) Manoj Kumar Jha is collecting details to ascertain who prepared the release and how it was released to the press on Sunday," said a top police official, requesting anonymity.

Regarding Monday night attack, the girl's family said, "Some people came to our house and started shouting at us to open the door. But we did not let them in and then they pelted stones at our house. They threatened us with dire consequences if we opened our mouth."

The police have now posted a PCR van outside the house but the family has refused to register a complaint.

Meanwhile, the girl's statement could not be recorded in the court on Wednesday.

"Police told us that my daughter was needed to appear in the court and record her statement. We kept waiting. But later in the afternoon they said due to some paperwork she can't appear before a judge today," said the girl's father.

A police officer said, "We would also conduct a forensic examination of the i10 car (UP 16 Z 0028) used in the gangrape of the 17-year-old girl."
