Gone are the days when an interaction with the city police would be synonymous with dilapidated buildings, dusty files and lack of basic facilities. In an attempt to work towards a more people-friendly image, the offices of all senior police officials in the city and some police stations now wear a corporate look.
With computer-enabled offices, open halls and comfortable seating arrangement for residents, the makeover will make life easier for both visitors and the police officials at work.
A fine example is the police commissioner’s office which now has a presentable facade, a good hall and basic amenities like restrooms.
"Policemen attending to cases are at least making an honest attempt to help, which is great,: said SS Deswal, Gurgaon police commissioner. These newly-developed police stations and offices have improved the image of the police department. /P>
