Jacob Oram, the tall all-rounder currently out of the one-day side with a fractured little left finger, has ambition of leading New Zealand team in near future.
Oram, who made his Test debut in the current series against India, today said he would be more than happy to step into current captain Stephen Fleming's shoe one day.
"I want to follow Flem. It's a goal of mine but they are huge shoes to fill."
Oram had a highly successful outing against the Indians in the two Tests and first four one-dayers.
Besides taking 11 wickets in the two-match Test series, Oram scalped eight Indians in the first four one-dayers. He also came up with stellar performance with the bat in both the series.
"I've always enjoyed captaincy and I guess captaining your country is the pinnacle in that regard", he said.
