"We will conduct 'ossification test' on her body to ascertain her age although her passport registers her age as 15 years," Inspector General of Police Kishan Kumar told PTI.

Scarlett Eden Keeling's bruised body was found lying on Anjuna beach on February 18 in semi-nude condition.

After the second autopsy report, the police had arrested 29-year-old Samsung D'souza, a barman, who was allegedly seen in a "compromising position" couple of hours with her before her body was found.

"The 'ossification test' would confirm her exact age which is crucial to establish rape case against D'souza," Kumar said.

Police have registered a rape case against D'souza as Scarlett was a minor.

Police sources confirmed that the department, which is in the line of fire for the way it has handled the case, is taking no chances.
