As per reports, villagers had spotted the girl, who is a graduate student, along with the two youths at the former’s house. To settle the matter, a panchayat was convened in which all the parties were present. The boy, who was initially identified as the girl’s lover, denied the same and instead alleged that the other youth was the ‘real’ lover. This created confusion, following which police were called and the trio was taken to the police station.
