The weapon licence of Sandeep Patel, son of former Minister Kamal Patel, was cancelled by the Disrict Collector as he was one of the accused in the Durgesh Jat's suspected murder case, official sources said on Wednesday.
Jat was missing since the incident of shootout in a farmhouse near Harda on March 5, 2008 involving Sandeep Patel and others, they said.
The District Collector Pushplata Singh cancelled the pistol licence of Sandeep and directed the Suprintendent of Police (SP) to seize his Spanish weapon, the sources said.
It can be recalled that following disppearance of Durgesh, his father had filed a habeas corpus petition in the high court.
On the direction of the high court, police registered a case of murder against the accused persons. Later, the court also handed over the case to the CBI for probe.
