Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday left on a visit to Ireland and the US.
"Working westward. PM @narendramodi departs on a 2 nation, 3 city visit to Ireland & the US, will address the @UN," tweeted external affairs ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup.
On the first leg of his two-nation tour, Modi will hold discussions with Irish Prime Minister Enda to bolster economic ties between the two countries.

India and Ireland have traditionally had cordial and friendly relations going back to the time of our freedom movement.
In Facebook posts earlier this week, Modi had noted that his visit to Ireland would be the first by an Indian PM to Dublin in 60 years. Jawaharlal Nehru was the only Indian PM to have visited Ireland in 1949 and 1956. There have, however, been high-level visits from Ireland to India, the last one was in January 2006 when then PM Bertie Ahern was in India on a six-day visit.
He will depart for New York the same evening for the US leg of his tour.
The prime minister will be in the US till September 29.
