CHIEF MEDICAL officer Dr Shantimal Singhavi said the detection of fresh cases of polio in other parts of State might also affect the success of entire polio eradication programme in Allahabad district. He also urged the medical officers to remain extra cautious during the pulse polio drive.
Addressing the national health programme review meeting on Saturday, Dr Singhavi said children, who were not covered during the last pulse polio drives, should be identified and administered polio drops during the routine immnunisation programme.
Dr Singhavi called upon the medical officers posted at ‘D’ type health posts to be prepared to deal with epidemic season. If there were any outbreak-like condition, they should immediately inform the district epidemic cell, he added.
The Nagar Nigam Ward office should also be asked to improve the civic condition of the affected areas, he said.
The meeting was attended by MOs posted at all the 12 ‘D’ type health posts.
