A former naxalite was shot dead, allegedly by People's War Group militants, in Andhra Pradesh's Warangal district early on Tuesday.
Yeeka Sambaiah was abducted along with his friend Banothu Venkanna three days ago in Karlapalli village, police said. On Monday, the abductors killed Sambaiah and returned Venkanna with the news for his family and friends.

According to Venkanna, the ultras killed Sambaiah as they suspected him to have turned a police informer, police said.
Sambaiah had surrendered to the police last year and had been leading a normal life since, police added.
