The Rest of South Africa won the toss and decided to bat in the first match of India's tour of South Africa at Willowmoore Park on Thursday.

It was agreed before the toss that both teams would be able to use 12 players, although only 11 would be on the field at any time.
This decision enabled the Indians to field an extra player to get match practice in the only fixture ahead of a five-match one-day international series against South Africa that starts at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on Sunday.
It meant, however, that the match would not have official List A limited overs status.
