Why are you targeting Rahul Mahajan?I am not targeting anyone personally. I have merely filed a complaint against obscene acts on the show. The police conducted their own investigation and came to the conclusion that the most objectionable scenes were those involving Payal Rohatgi, Sambhavna Seth and Rahul Mahajan.

But with Rahul’s name coming up, this could be seen as a deliberate attempt by the Congress to malign the BJP.I am a Youth Congress leader, yes, but I am a citizen first. And I am concerned that eight-year-olds in my neighbourhood are watching the show wide-eyed and could come to believe that this kind of behaviour is all about modern life.

Are you not afraid of charges of moral policing?Moral policing is when parties like the Shiv Sena and the BJP get into vandalistic (sic) acts. We are not being vandalistic. We are not beating up people or destroying property. We are peacefully taking the law in our hands.

But how do you explain the fact that your own leader Sanjay Nirupam was also on the show?Sanjayji did not embarrass the nation with obscene acts. In fact, when the contestants were set the task of close dancing during his week, he refused to be part of it. He kept his dignity intact throughout his stay.

Now there are scenes of kissing and semi-nudity. Is this how our children are supposed to view home television? The Censor Board certifies even plays, other stage shows, and advertisements. How has this show escaped the Censor’s scissors?

So how do you gain politically?I am not concerned with the politics. It is all about morals and decency.
