Kicking off his fifth leg of Parivartan Yatra from Lakhisarai, Rashtriya Janata Dal ( RJD) chief Lalu Prasad on Wednesday said a mass movement against the Nitish Kumar government had already taken off and would now be steered by his party to oust the present dispensation.
People of Bihar have already taken to the streets. The RJDfs agitation will now follow to replace the NDA government,h Prasad said at Lakhisarai, around 70km east of Patna. The RJD chief harped on the twin issues of agitation launched by the contractual teachers and the public anger being witnessed during the chief ministerfs ongoing Adhikar Yatra to drum up support for the JD(U)'s rally on special status demand on November 4.
After completion of arguments by both the sides, the case will reach the final argument stage--the last step in a trial. The matter relates to RC 20 (A)/96 of the fodder scam.
It pertains to fraudulent withdrawal of Rs. 37 crore from Chaibasa treasury and involves 42 accused, including RJD chief Lalu Prasad and former Bihar chief minister Jagannath Mishra. Prasad and Mishra have been charged with providing umbrella protection to the scamsters.
In the instant case, recording of testimonies of prosecution witnesses has been completed. The accounts of 350 witnesses have been recorded. Deposition of all defence witnesses, except those in the list produced by Prasad, has also been completed. Apart from RC 20 (A)/96, Prasad is facing trial in four other fodder scam cases.
