’Serial killer’ confesses to killing young girl 14 years ago

The serial killer, arrested for killing young women by luring them to isolated spot, today confessed of one more murder and it led to solving the mysterious disappearance of another young girl 14 years back.

The serial killer, arrested for killing young women by luring them to isolated spot, today confessed of one more murder and it led to solving the mysterious disappearance of another young girl 14 years back.

Mahanand Naik, 40, a serial killer has confessed to killing three young women in the last 15 years while he is also booked for raping wife’s friend and blackmailing her in Ponda town, 30 kms from in Panaji.

The arrest of the accused has solved three mysterious murders of Darshan Naik (1994), Vanita Gawde (1995) and Yogita Naik (2009).

Police expect more cases to be unearthed as interrogation of the accused is still on.

Mahanand, who was arrested a fortnight ago for blackmailing his wife’s friend and raping her over three years, confessed of the two other murders.

The serial killer, now labeled as ‘dupatta killer,´ used to befriend young women in the town and later lure them to isolated places and kill them. He has strangulated all the victims with their dupatta cloth.
