Bedi, hosting a show on the final match of the World Cup cricket on a TV channel last night, appeared in a sari featuring the national flags of all 16 cricket-playing countries, including the Indian tricolour on the bottom.

The Sainiks led by city chief Paramjeet Singh Mekan set afire the effigy at Rajwada.

They said they would file a case against Bedi in a local court under the Prevention of Insult to National Honour Act.
