EXAMINATION SUPERINTENDENTS at the madhyamik schools are upset over the short supply of answerbooks. Most schools were supplied 75 percent of answerbooks against the required number of copies.
According to examination superintendents, supply of answerbooks in different phases was not only inconvenient for maintaining proper records, but it was also costing more to the college management as it had to pay transportation charges every time . The auditors were against such types of expenses, they added.
On the other hand, despite strict directives for supplying of answerbooks to examination centres amidst tight security, the books were being supplied on rickshaws to the centres.
Besides, in the name of security, only three constables were posted at the GIC Intermediate College, which has been the nodal centre for distribution of answerbooks and question papers to different examination centres in the district .
There are reports that many of the self -financed institutions have issued identity cards to those who had never been teachers at their respective colleges since July 2005.
They were shown as the teaching staff of the college just to facilitate the examination duty.
However, the DIOS has directed that the examination superintendents should verify the records before forwarding the name of teachers for identity cards.
