While they still very much remain the uniform of fashionable women worldwide - much to the chagrin of their other halves, by the way, who seemingly never really got used to the look - the first look at the new jeans collections indicate a change of style towards the much more flattering bell bottoms that first surfaced in the 1970s.
Star stylist Rachel Zoe, for instance, who has long been wearing the widely flared jeans herself, just created a new pair ($169) for denim brand 7 for All Mankind, the ever-stylish Olsen twins also included bell bottoms ($245) in the debut denim line for their label, Elizabeth and James, and one of the most-followed labels of Paris fashion week, Balmain, presented pants that looked like office clothes that could double as disco wear for fall.
