Asserting that the NDA would get a majority in the Lok Sabha elections, BJP general secretary Pramod Mahajan on Friday said smaller parties were talking of a hung Parliament only to get a better bargain in the post-poll scenario.

"Only those parties, who get a dozen or two dozen seats, are talking of a hung parliament," Mahajan said, adding "they were doing so to get some support and bargain if the need arose."

"There would be no hung parliament after the election for the 14th Lok Sabha as BJP will get over 200 seats, while the NDA will get more than 300 seats and get a comfortable majority," Mahajan said.

He said no other party had outstanding leaders or an alliance or even policies to rival those of the BJP.

Dismissing the Ram temple issue as the base of BJP victories, he said "no one issue could stand for ever and BJP had progressed steadily to its present strength."

"Politicians are not employed people," he said, adding "in a way politicians were retired by the electorate after every five years."
