The BJP has ridiculed the ruling coalition at the Centre, describing Congress chief Sonia Gandhi as the 'super prime minister' and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad as 'ultra prime minister'.
"Though the Prime Minister is Manmohan Singh, Gandhi is the super prime minister. We have PM, SPM (super prime minister), CPM and ultra PM - Lalu Prasad," senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu said.
Likening the ruling coalition to a vehicle, he said Manmohan Singh was in the drivers' seat, while steering was with Sonia Gandhi, brakes are with CPI(M) and power brake with Lalu Prasad.
It was a peculiar situation where the right proposes, Left opposes and the mind disposes, he said at the meeting to flag off party president Rajnath Singh's 'BharatSurakshaYatra'.
Naidu also criticised Sonia Gandhi's resignation, saying that it was just a 'drama' because she knew that her Lok Sabha membership had to go.
