Truth be told… I’m a bit fuzzy this week. It’s the combined outcome of jet lag, lack of sleep, lots of work and one zinger of a high-voltage shock to my core!
It’s put me in a “Where is the light at the end of this tunnel?” frame of mind. It all began innocently enough, with an agenda and an itinerary that was filled to the brim… seven days to go from Mumbai to Jodhpur, back to Mumbai and then onwards to Chicago.
All I had to do was shoot for
What’s your Rashee?,
then move on to a shoot for a TV commercial, then shoot for a print ad campaign and round it off with a flight across the globe to continue my shoot for the film. Sounds like a piece of cake, right? Not even close, because 50 per cent through my list of ‘things to do’, I was hit by a two-ton truck! My dad, who is my hero and my rock, was very unwell and had to be admitted to hospital. I can’t even begin to explain the thoughts and emotions that ran riot within me. All I can say is that my family rallied together, prayed, and pulled through those two very tough days.
If you’ve been through something like this, I’m sure you’ll understand what it can do to you both physically and mentally. I’m so grateful that dad’s better now and that he’s back home. I wrapped up my Mumbai commitment and have just landed in Chicago with the hope that I’ll find the exit from this tunnel.
