In an industry where hefty joining bonuses and five star incentives are common for pilots and senior technical staff, low-cost carrier SpiceJet is treading a different path.

India’s second largest low-cost carrier has come up with a host of employee welfare initiatives including supporting education of children of employees whose salaries are less than Rs 15,000 a month, providing health policies, free travel among other things.

CEO Neil Mills recently handed over Rs 40 lakh cheque to the family of Captain Rakesh Dager who passed away a fortnight back.
SpiceJet has also been providing travel benefits to employees who are in need.
