The SIT, a senior investigating officer said, has also spoken to all those who had attended the party that night but had left before the incident had taken place. The SIT last week had interrogated special commissioner Y.S. Dadwal in this connection. While a num ber of senior officers had attended the party at Tamarind Court that night, only Dadwal's name was projected.

Technical investigations had estab lished that Dadwal had left hours before the incident took place.

A high-level inquiry also gave him a clean chit. ''Dadwal was neither a witness nor an investigator in the case. We spoke to him to check all angles in the case,'' an investigating officer said.

A number of senior police officers were allegedly present in the party but never came forward. ''We will soon be questioning Amod Kanth, the then joint commissioner, southern range and Sudhir Yadav, the then DCP, south as these officers were incharge of the day-to-day probe in the case,'' the officer said. Vivek Gogia, the then additional DCP, south, was also questioned.
