“This would give TRAI a specific identity,” said JS Sarma, chairman of TRAI.

“It is an indication of TRAI coming of an age by branding itself like any other good organisation in the world,” said B K Syngal, former CMD of VSNL. “TRAI has brought in a lot of regulations, especially in the last three years, that has helped in revolutionising the telecom sector. The consumer is now the prime focus. The new logo identifies all these aspects of TRAI.”

The logo comprises of strips and a circle and is blue in colour. In the logo, TRAI is represented in the form of strips and consumers and service providers are represented in the form of a circle.

The logo designed by Himesh Singh of IIT (Kanpur) was selected through a tough competition in which 12 institutions including IIT (Mumbai), NID (Ahemdabad), IIT (Delhi), J J School of Applied Arts and MICA (Ahemdabad) also participated.
