It’s wrong on the part of Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit to ask the CMs of other states to take back their beggars from the capital before the Commonwealth Games begin (Take your beggars back, 10 states told, February 20). Our Constitution gives every citizen the freedom to move anywhere in the nation. Has Dikshit not taken a cue from the way the nation recently gave the thumbs down to the Thackerays when they asked non-Mumbaikars to leave the city? Why can’t she ask non-Delhiite members of her party and government officials to return to their home states? It’s shameful how the Delhi government has no problem with thousands of stray dogs but is unable to take care of beggars from other states.
