The Dalai Lama has done his job. Now it’s New Delhi’s turn

His statements that the Chinese demands are baseless and Beijing’s attitude towards New Delhi is condemnable give India much-needed support. Now it is up to India to use the Tibet card well to gain advantage over China.

DMRC needs a better action plan

The report Nightmare on Metro (November 9) highlights that the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is ill-equipped to handle emergencies. In the event of a breakdown, like the one that held up Metro traffic on Sunday, the DMRC should be quick to isolate the troubled spot, evacuate stranded passengers and provide first aid to them. The passengers, too, should cooperate with the Metro staff.

RSS is the BJP’s best ally

Pankaj Vohra in his article BJP proposes, RSS disposes (Between Us, November 9) rightly stated that, given the turmoil that the BJP is in now, working closely with the RSS will be in the party's interest. Like other parties, the BJP should also let its second-rung leaders take charge of the party.

Reconsider the pre-paid SIM ban

The editorial Lose trust, lose support (Our Take, November 7) rightly proposed that the Centre should reconsider its decision on banning pre-paid SIMs in Jammu and Kashmir. The ban will affect the lives of thousands of people in the Valley as it will isolate them from the rest of the country.
