The Trinamool Congress will not participate in any dialogue or all party meetings with the ruling Left Front unless the continuing onslaught on innocent villagers at Nandigram stopped, peace restored and the culprits punished. Trinamool on Friday claimed that since last night the CPI(M) goons are continuously firing towards Nandigram villages from five points of Khejuri to create panic among the villagers.

Trinamool supremo Mamata Banerjee also threatened to take their agitation to Delhi and hold demonstrations in front of the prime minister’s residence along with the rape victims of Nandigram, if the central government fails to take action against the Left-ruled state government and remains onlooker.

“By managing the centre, the state government is conniving to cover up all the evidences of March 14 genocide. But the central government cannot just stay away from the issue saying that law and order was a state subject, as women, children, minority community are being subjected to torture and killing. And in such a situation, the centre has constitutional obligation and the prime minister cannot remain silent spectator. Or, does the prime minister want us to go to Delhi to stage a demonstration in front of his residence with the Nandigram rape victims, which the whole world will see? And we will do it if required” said Mamata.

She warned that the attacks are now one-sided, but no one knows how long it will remain this way as anytime the patience could break. Mamata claimed that this was an effort by CPI(M) to create panic and fear in the minds of those who were tortured, assaulted and raped by the CPI(M) cadres so that the victims and the eyewitnesses do not open their mouth.

“How much blood do they want? How much more bloodshed does Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee wants before allow peace a chance. Does the chief minister want my blood? If so, I am willing to stand in front of their bullets for the sake of peace at Nandigram,” said Mamata.

She alleged that police was behaving like CPI(M) goons and even in Kolkata, the officer-in-charge of Kalighat police station forcefully took away a bill-board that was put up by Trinamool to protest the Nandigram killing. The Trinamool would stage a gherao program at Kalighat police station in protest on Saturday afternoon.
