Five revolvers and materials used to make fake licences were also recovered. The accused were identified as Naushad, 36, a resident of Dighal, Rohtak, and Sanjay, 39, of Bidlan, Sonepat.

“We were on a lookout for these men for a long time. Naushad has been booked in many cases and was the kingpin of the gun supply chain that dealt with gangs in Haryana,” said Maheshwar Dayal, DCP (crime).

According to the police, Naushad started dealing in fake driving licences in 2001 in Gurgaon but the business didn’t yield the desired profit. So, he started supplying illegal pistols which he used to get from Madhya Pradesh. He would often travel in trucks. For the drivers, he was their hero as he would facilitate fake licences.
