UGC releases list of fake universities

THE UNIVERSITY Grants Commission (UGC) has declared some universities and institutions across eight states -- Delhi, UP, Maharashtra, Bihar, Kerala, Karnataka, MP and TN --in the country as fake and warned students against taking admission in those places.

THE UNIVERSITY Grants Commission (UGC) has declared some universities and institutions across eight states -- Delhi, UP, Maharashtra, Bihar, Kerala, Karnataka, MP and TN --in the country as fake and warned students against taking admission in those places.

UP has the dubious distinction of topping the list with as many as 10 fake universities operating in the state followed by Delhi with six such institutions.

Other universities include Maithili University and Vishwavidyalaya, Darbhanga in Bihar, Commercial University Limited, United Nations University, Delhi and Vocational University, Delhi, Bioinformatics Institute of India, New Delhi, ADR-Centric Judicial University, ADR House, 8J, Gopala Tower, 25 Rajendra Place, New Delhi-110008, St.John’s University, Kishanattam in Kerala, Raja Arabic University, Nagpur in Maharashtra, Kesarwani Vidyapeeth, Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh and DDB Sanskrit University, Putur, Trichi in Tamil Nadu, Badaganvi Sarkar World Open University Education Society, Gokak, Belgaum (Karnataka). ,
