Sunday's race has shown that the Indian F1 is on the right trackWith reference to the editorial It's more than just a race (Our Take, October 29), at a time when cricket's popularity is plummeting, sports lovers in India have found a refreshing alternative in Formula 1 (F1). Despite being an expensive sport, F1 in India has managed to attract a lot of attention in the first year itself. The successful hosting of the race has put India on the map and it will promote tourism in the years to come. Sunday's race was world-class by any means and the drivers' admission that the Buddh International Circuit is better than many other racing tracks across the globe has made every Indian proud.G David Milton, via email

IISunday's race is a feather in India's cap. Not just the fans but even the participating drivers and teams are impressed over the newest F1 circuit. A summons in bad faithWith reference to the report Valley grand mufti summons pastor (October 29), Mufti Bashir-ud-din should remember that the shariat court doesn't have the right to summon CM Khurana on the assumption that the Christian priest is converting children at his church in Srinagar. Neither does the Constitution give the clergyman the right to summon the priest nor is Khurana answerable to the mufti.Bejoy John, Noida
