“There is panic in Madhya Pradesh due to the deaths. I am scared for the lives of people connected to me. I am a minister but still I am scared. I will convey my fears to CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan,” she told India Today.

While saying she suspected a big conspiracy, Bharti refused to elaborate.

Bharti, who said she was the first to demand a CBI probe into the scam, said it was “unfair” to drag her name into it.

“I was named in the FIR as per an accused’s version. This is unfair. I am shocked that my name has been dragged into this,” she said.

She, however, backed Chouhan — with whom she hasn’t been on good terms in the past — saying he had a clean image. ANI quoted her as saying: “I stand with Shivraj ji.

In this, she echoed the views of Union home minister Rajnath Singh, who said the state government wanted a fair probe into the scam in which over 40 people have died.
