Former intelligence Bureau Director and a new Chhattisgarh Governor ESL Narasimhan paid his first visit to Dantewada, a stronghold of Naxalites in southern Chhattisgarh, and met the tribals and villagers who have taken shelter in the government run relief camps.
Interacting with the Salwa Judum (anti-naxal campaign) activists of the relief camps in Dornapal and Bhairamgarh on Saturday evening, the Governor learnt about their problems and the existing ground situation.
"We will soon win the war against the Maoists and people would be able to return to their villages to live a happy life again", Narasimhan told the people while extending his good wishes to the people in the camps.
Governor appreciated the strength, unity and integrity displayed by the masses in the camps.
He also reviewed the relief, rehabilitation and security aspects of the relief camps. Later he met security personnel posted at various defensive fronts in the districts and took stock of the security concerns.
It may be noted that fearing the threat from Naxals over 50,000 people are presently staying in the Salwa Judum camps in Dantewada.
Earlier in the Jagdalpur district of Bastar range, the Governor convened a meeting of field officials in which he enquired about the Naxal problem.

Governor was accompanied by his wife Vimla Narasimhan, local MLA Khawasi Lakma of Congress Party and IGP Bastar range R K Vij.
