What a night it was! The crowd at the Ferozshah Kotla was amazing. To top it, I scored a hundred which will be one of the highlights of my career. The knock came when we were under a bit of pressure. We had lost Viru, Naman and Ross unfortunately got run out. I knew I had to take the responsibility and take the side home.
I had to do it without slogging and am glad that cricketing shots got us the winning runs. Yogesh Nagar batted well as he took the pressure off me with his knock of 23. But the fact that I am here for three or four more games makes this effort extra special.
Top spells
The stage was set by the bowlers, especially Shahbaz Nadeem and Morne Morkel, who delivered top spells. Everyone said we don’t have a spinner this season. But look at Nadeem, he has proved to be a match-winner for us. I feel all the work I put in with Mushtaq (Ahmed) in Dubai is paying off now.
Next up are the Pune Warriors. They have had two losses and are hurting. We need to be at the top of our game and play like we have been.
