Wigan & Leigh College has introduced various innovative courses to match up with the industry standards. WLC offers a unique traineeship programme with an aim to accomplish the present requirement of skilled professionals in the industry.

In order to boost the confidence of students during their negotiations for final placements, they are selected by one of the WLC's industry partners to work in their offices on assignments directly related to their chosen course, and are paid an attractive stipend for their services.

Speaking about Traineeship Programme Vinay Pasricha, Director, Wigan & Leigh College (India), says, "We are of the opinion that learning must not only take place in the classroom, but simultaneously at the work place. Under this programme the college assists the industry to find and groom high quality focused managers/executives and reduce drastically the ennoblement cost of front line executives."

"Through this programme, by the end of the course, each student has relevant experience which matches the competencies sought after by the employer. One of the most valuable benefits is for the students to see first hand how the theories and principles learned in the classroom translate into reality in the business world," says Malobika Sengupta, CEO Wigan & Leigh College (India).

The traineeship programme accentuates on practical learning in contrast to theoretical learning and provides a hands-on approach to the students in their chosen profession.

Under this programme specialised skills are imparted, as per the specifications of the partnering organisations, in addition to the standardised skills taught in the course curriculum.
