WORK IN the Bhopal district civil court remained paralysed for the second day on Wednesday as class III and IV employees stayed away from work to protest against increase in their working hours and cut in holidays without offering any incentive to them.

WORK IN the Bhopal district civil court remained paralysed for the second day on Wednesday as class III and IV employees stayed away from work to protest against increase in their working hours and cut in holidays without offering any incentive to them.

From Thursday, the employees will boycott work for half an hour in the morning and the evening to press for demand either to revoke increase in working hours and cut in holidays or give them 50 per cent additional dearness allowance (DA).Meanwhile, a number of employees’ unions including M P Nigam Mandal Karmachari Sangh, M P Swasthya Karmachari Sangh, M P Class III Employees’ Union, M P Laghu Vetan Karmachari Sangh and M P Mantralayin Karmachari Sangh have extended support to civil court employees’ stir.

The All India Civil Court Employees’ Federation has also extended support to their agitation. On January 9, state office-bearers of M P Civil Court Employees’ Association and its district presidents will hold a one-day hunger strike in front of M P High Court to register their protest over High Court’s proposal to increase their working hours and cut holidays.
