I will work hard to prove myself in IPL: Kamlesh Nagarkoti

Nagarkoti, who bowled at 149 km speed, said that he is lucky to have got a huge platform like IPL to showcase his talent.

“I will work hard to prove myself in IPL and will try to justify my inclusion in the Kolkata Knight Riders team,” said India’s U-19 pace sensation Kamlesh Nagarkoti here on Monday.

Kamlesh, who reached Jaipur on Tuesday after winning the Under-19 World Cup in New Zealand where he took nine wickets to help India win a record fourth World Cup title. “Now, I will be practising at Sanskar Academy with my coach Surendra Rathore. I will also play T20 matches at the academy as preparation,” said Nagarkoti, adding that former Indian captain Rahul Dravid taught him a lot during the World Cup.

“Dravid sir taught me how to read a batsman’s face and how to know his short,” he said.

Nagarkoti, who bowled at 149 km speed, said that he is lucky to have got a huge platform like IPL to showcase his talent. “Yes, I will try my best to prove myself for the national team,” he added.

Hundreds of his well-wishers were at the Sanganer Airport to welcome him home. Nagarkoti wants to emulate Mohammed Shami and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar.
