Allan Weissman and Suzanne Minich, the California-based couple, had come to India on tour and were enamoured by the elaborate ceremonies of a Hindu wedding so much that they decided to tie the nuptial knot on Tuesday in Juna khedapati temple as per Hindu customs.

Suzanne, the bride, underwent ‘mehendi’ rituals on Monday while Allan, the groom, arrived at the temple on a mare. Manju Sachdeva, an NRI, assisted the couple for the wedding ceremony. Amid the chanting of Sanskrit sermons, the couple took seven rounds of ‘pheras’.

Allen, 60, is a noted photographer. He has worked with Hollywood actors Morgan Freeman, Angelina Jolie, Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz and Jack Lemmon. The photographs by Allan have been displayed at Brooklyn Museum, Boston Polarized Museum and New York Hilton hotel. Suzanne, 55, is a nurse at a hospital and has ministered thousands of deliveries. “I and Suzanne have been in a live-in relationship for around 21 years,” said Allen. The couple is charmed by the culture and tradition of Jodhpur, a place they had also visited before.

After touring Delhi, Haridwar, Chennai and Agra, the couple will stop next at Bhutan.
