Sikar: Cops detain school director, teacher accused of gang-raping teen girl

Family members of the girl alleged that the two accused tricked them into getting an abortion done when the girl became pregnant.

The Sikar police on Tuesday detained the director of a private school along with a teacher of the same institution who are accused of gang-raping an 18-year-old student and tricking her family into conducting an abortion in last month when she became pregnant.

“We have detained both the men and are interrogating them. Further action will be taken after recording their statements and also on the basis of what the family members of the victim have told the police,” said superintendent of police, Sikar, Vinit Kumar.

The family of the girl who is now admitted in a hospital in Jaipur registered a case at the Ajeetgarh police station on Sunday.

“In their complaint, the family members have said that the accused used to call the victim to the school for extra classes, where they allegedly gang-raped her. The victim started experiencing stomach pains last month,” Kushal Singh, circle officer, Neem Ka Thana had told HT on Monday.

The police said that after going to a doctor the family discovered that the girl was pregnant. The girl’s father is a farmer.

The police had also recorded the statements of two doctors at a hospital in Shahpura where the abortion allegedly took place.

The two accused have been identified as Jagdish Yadav, the director of the school, and teacher Jagat Singh Gurjar, said the police.

Officials said that following the abortion, the condition of the girl deteriorated and she was shifted to a hospital in Jaipur on September 7.
