HC grants bail to Cong MP Adhir Chowdhury

The Calcutta High Court grants bail to Adhir Chowdhury in connection with a murder case in Bardhaman district of West Bengal.

The Calcutta High Court on Monday granted bail to Congress MP Adhir Chowdhury in connection with a murder case in Bardhaman district of West Bengal.

A division bench comprising Justice Amit Taluqdar and Justice A Bhattacharya granted bail to Chowdhury who was accused of complicity in the murder of a gram panchayat leader on September 12, 2003.

The MP from Baharampur in Murshidabad district was arrested on September seven for his alleged involvement in the killing of Kalyanpur gram panchayat pradhan, Gobardhan Ghosh.
