Staying in a hostel marks the beginning of a new chapter of life. For a large number of students, it is the first time being away from family, being responsible for everything on their own, and fitting in with their new way of life. Although the first few days can be a little difficult for them, it is not hard to see how students get used to living in hostels as long as they build up some basic habits. These habits not only help the students in arranging everything in an orderly way but also allow them to improve their health and concentration on their studies. In an interview with HT Lifestyle, Kunwar Gaurav Giri, chairperson of Annapurna Girls’ Hostel, shares a notable routine which can make a significant impact on the lives of the hostellers.

In considering hostel life, one must remember that hostel experience should not be limited only to the particular place where the students stay. It actually refers to the principles that form their everyday life. Over time, these little rules shape young people's sense of confidence, discipline, and freedom and are responsible for the quality of hostel life. When people live according to these principles, they enjoy their stay in the hostel much more, as their living conditions are conducive to that.
