15-year-old gang raped at gunpoint in UP’s Muzaffarnagar

A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped by four youths at gunpoint in a village in Mansoorpur area of Muzaffarnagar district of western Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, police said.

The family of the girl lodged a complaint against two teenage boys of the village who have been absconding after the crime.

Muzaffarnagar’s senior superintendent of police Sudhir Kumar said that the girl was assaulted on Thursday and raids were underway to arrest the accused. Their arrest will also help identify the other accused involved in the crime.

The girl had gone to collect fodder in the afternoon from a field situated on the fringe of the village. Finding her alone, four youths allegedly caught hold of her and gang raped her at gunpoint and threatened her with dire consequences if she told anyone about the incident.

The girl narrated the incident to her family members who lodged a complaint at the Mansoorpur police station.
