Family fights back burglars during midnight intrusion in Lucknow

The entire family had gone for a marriage party of his close friend in Old Lucknow. While the others returned around 12 midnight, Razi stayed back at the party venue for some time. The thieves sneaked into the house when the family went to sleep

A gang of thieves sneaked into the house of four brothers in Sector 13, Vikas Nagar and opened fire on them after one of the victims spotted them when he returned home from a late night party on Tuesday. The youngest brother suffered bullet injury while another brother was beaten up with an iron rod.

The brothers, however, fought back and forced the burglars to flee from the house. The thieves left their car and stolen belongings on the spot.

The incident took place at retired power department employee, Syed Naseem Haider’s house where his four sons – Razi, Imran, Farhan and Salman – stay together. Razi and Imran are practicing lawyers, Farhan is a doctor and the youngest, Salman is preparing for competitive examinations. He is undergoing treatment at KGMU’s Trauma Centre.

The family was unaware of the burglars’ presence until Razi returned home around 2am. When he called his wife on her cell phone, she shouted after spotting the intruders in another room of the house.

Razi’s youngest brother Salman was one of the first ones to respond to her screams. He confronted the thieves but was shot at and suffered bullet injury in the incident. The intruders also attacked Razi with an iron rod when he rushed to rescue Salman.

Razi said the assailants scaled the boundary wall and jumped towards the rear side of the house before his two brothers could turn up for help.

The burglars left behind the entire booty collected by them. Razi said he initially thought that the burglars were equipped with firearms but later found that they fired with his licenced revolver that was kept in his room.

Harendra Kumar, ASP (trans-Gomti) rushed to the spot along with other police personnel. The cops later found that the burglars had also left behind a car parked in front of the brothers’ house.

The vehicle’s registration number was found to be of a scooty when the police cross-checked the details. Now, the police were trying to find out the owner’s details on the basis of engine and chassis number of the car.
