Lucknow: Six-year-old girl gang-raped by four minors, one held

In a shocking incident, a six-year-old daughter of a slum dweller was gang-raped allegedly by four minor boys staying in her neighbourhood.

In a shocking incident, a six-year-old daughter of a slum dweller was gang-raped allegedly by four minor boys staying in her neighbourhood in Indira Nagar police area late on Saturday night, police said. The police have taken a 14-year-old boy in custody after registering an FIR in this connection. Efforts are on to nab other culprits who were not found at their houses.

Inspector, Indira Nagar police station, Mukul Prakash Verma said the girl was sent for a medical examination. He said the girl’s condition was stated to be out of danger and that she was undergoing treatment in a hospital.

The inspector said the FIR under Sections 376-D (gang rape), 342 (illegal confinement) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC was lodged against the four boys on the complaint of the girl’s mother.

Verma further said the girl’s mother stated that the boys allegedly kidnapped her daughter when she was sleeping in the open outside her hut in Faridinagar locality and outraged her modesty at a secluded spot. He said the girl’s mother got alerted and started searching for her daughter when she incidentally woke up at around 2am and found her missing.
