A 29-year-old MBBS intern from JJ Hospital suffered injuries after he fell from the third floor of the hospital’s hostel on Thursday morning.

According to hospital authorities, Triratan Wathore was under depression and had attempted suicide earlier too.

According to the JJ Marg police, the students of JJ Hospital, who live in RM Bhatt Hostel, noticed Wathore lying injured on the ground around 11.30am.

Wathore was taken to the casualty ward at JJ Hospital. He suffered extradural and subdural haemorrhage. He has been an intern at the medicine department for the past few months.

The JJ Marg police said he was unconscious and hence, a case has not yet been registered.

“He was a drug addict. It is possible that he fell from the third floor or attempted suicide. We are waiting for him to gain consciousness. Meanwhile, we have recorded statements of his colleagues and superiors,” said Shirish Gaikwad, SPI of JJ Marg police station.
