The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is all geared up to bid adieu to Ganesh on the last day of immersions on Thursday. More than 7,000 civic employees, from Class 3 to officers, will be present across the 69 natural and 31 artificial immersion spots.

More than 81 motorboats and barges will be placed at various immersion spots such as Girgaum, Juhu, Versova and Marve for transportation of idols deeper into the sea for immersion.

With various mandals demanding pothole-free roads in the city before immersion , the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s road department has filled more than 4,332 potholes of the 4,357 complaints received , till Tuesday evening.

“The civic body has completed immersion preparations and our employees will be at the spots throughout the day,” said Anand Waghralkar, deputy municipal commissioner, in charge of arrangement.

Keeping the Centre’s Swacch Bharat Abhiyan in mind, the civic body has urged citizens to dispose of nimalaya (flower waste) separately. For this, 201 nirmalaya kalash have been installed and 192 nirmalaya dumpers will ply on Thursday.
