According to the police, the trailer was coming towards Mumbai from Pune when the driver lost control of the vehicle and it hit the railings along the road. The vehicle then went off the highway and toppled in a pit.

Between January and May this year, the civic body had also sent notices to over 23,000 housing societies for failing to segregate waste.
