Travelling by road is a bad idea today as heavy traffic snarls are expected across Mumbai, owing to the Maratha Kranti Morcha slated to begin at 11 am.

The morcha will start at Jijamata Udyan in Byculla and end at Azad Maidan near Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus around 5 pm. However, south Mumbai is not the only area that is expected to be hit by commuting woes.

The south-bound stretch of the Eastern Freeway is congested as vehicles ferrying participants are heading from Suman Nagar junction towards Bhaktipark Marg. From there, they will reach CST by taking the Eastern Freeway, then exiting through Mumbai Port Trust Marg. To avoid getting stuck in heavy traffic, you can take Kings Circle towards P D’Mello Road.

Morcha particpants are travelling via the Western Express Highway (WEH) and Santacruz-Chembur Link Road (SCLR) towards Amar Mahal Junction. However, no snarls have been reported along the WEH yet, making it a safe bet. On the SCLR, expect jams from Kalina to Amar Mahal Junction.

Protestors arriving from Navi Mumbai will also reach the Bombay Port Trust through the Eastern Freeway from Panjalpol junction in Chembur.
