A 26-year-old was arrested for allegedly uploading two obscene videos of a woman on a porn website and defaming a college by writing that she was their student and staying in their hostel.

According to the cyber police, the man is from a village in Maharashtra. On April 21, the youth uploaded an obscene video of a woman on a porn site. Few days later he uploaded another video mentioning that it was the second part of the first one.
In the video, he claimed that she studied in a Mumbai college and stayed in its hostel. When the college authorities noticed this, they rushed to the cyber police station in Bandra-Kurla Complex and filed a first information report (FIR) under relevant sections of IPC and IT Act.
He was arrested on Tuesday and produced before a magistrate’s court. He has been remanded to police custody till May 6 for further probe.
The college authorities have also filed a defamation case against him. Meanwhile, a source from the cyber police said the victim is not from the college and is someone the accused was seeking revenge against.
