Mumbai police hunt for man who conned 8 people of lakhs with the promise of overseas jobs

The accused Mukesh Vaishnav is currently on the run from the authorities.

The Samta Nagar police are on the lookout for a 33-year-old man who ran a recruitment agency in a chawl in Kandivali (East) and duped at least eight people to the tune of several lakhs on the pretext of promising them jobs in Singapore, Australia and Germany.

According to the Samta Nagar police, the complainant Ankit Thakur, 28, an engineering graduate and a resident of Gorai, lodged an FIR against the alleged accused Mukesh Vaishnav, 33. As per Thakur’s complaint, between April 31, 2015 and November 16, 2017, the accused took a total of ₹18.95 lakh as processing fees while promising to give him a job in Germany. As years passed, the accused failed to get Thakur the promised job.

Vaishnav then told the complainant that he would get him a job as a production engineer in a private firm in Australia. However, he failed to do that as well. After visiting Vaishnav’s office in Kantaben Ramdas chawl in Akurli road numerous times, Thakur realized that he was being duped and demanded his money back. However, the accused refused to return the money.
