Rail fracture in Mumbai delays morning peak hour services by 15 mins

Sources said the fracture was spotted at 8.10 am, following which several slow trains were diverted on the fast line

A rail fracture at Chinchpokli station on the down slow line affected services on the Central Railway (CR) suburban route during peak hours on Friday morning. Sources said the fracture was spotted at 8.10 am, following which several slow trains were diverted on the fast line. This resulted in a delay of services by at least 15 minutes, inconveniencing office-goers greatly. AK Jain, public relations officer fro CR, said the diversion lasted for only 20 minutes, between 8.10 to 8.30 am, following which services attained normalcy.
