Registrations for all-India quota in medical, dental seats now open, to continue till July 11

Mumbai city news: The first seat allotment list will be released on July 15

Online registration for the 15% all-India Quota (AIQ) seats in medical and dental institutes in Maharashtra began this week, with the Directorate General of Health Sciences (DGHS) releasing a schedule. While registrations will continue till July 11 and choice form filling till July 12, the first seat allotment list will be released on July 15.

“Based on a Supreme Court order from May, the DGHS will fill up all the seats in deemed medical and dental institutes this year. The third round will be conducted by state governments, for whatever seats are left vacant after the first two rounds,” said Dr Pravin Shingare, director, state directorate of medical education and research (DMER).

He added that whatever seats remain vacant in deemed institutes after three rounds will then be given to respective institutes to fill.

The first seat allotment list will be out on July 15, after which students have a week to report to the allotted medical or dental institute and confirm their admission.The second list will be released on August 8 and students will have time till August 16 to confirm admissions.

“The process will be over in less than a month, whereas DMER is allotting a lot of time for registration and the first merit list will only be announced after July 27, a month after registration has started,” said a parent.

DMER plans to release the state-wise merit list on July 12.
